Jennifer Montgomery
PRESIDENT, CHARTERING BROKER, PRINCIPAL
Jennifer graduated from Linfield College with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business. After college, she tried her hand on the container side of the business before relocating to Maine where she graduated with a Masters of Science in Logistic Management from Maine Maritime Academy.
After one missing piece of pizza and 15 years later, Jennifer enjoys the challenges and benefits of operating an independent, women-owned brokerage. “The favorite part of my job is the teamwork it takes to make both sides of the equation feel like they are well represented and satisfied at the end of a negotiation.”
In her free time, Jennifer enjoys being on the water, sailing, paddle boarding, crabbing, as well as hiking with her friends, and exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with her family.
Kelle Horn
VICE PRESIDENT, CHARTERING BROKER, PRINCIPAL
Originally from California, Kelle graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in History and made her home in the Seattle area with her husband and two boys.
Kelle joined Pacific Rim Shipbrokers in 2001 as a Post-Fixture Manager and then joined San Juan Navigation as a vessel operator of dry bulk carriers from 2006 until 2011. After working as the Director of Operations for a travel company that specialized in small vessel charters around the globe, she returned to Pacific Rim Shipbrokers in 2014. Having experience as both an operator and a charterer gives Kelle the unique perspective to identify potential risks and benefits for our clients. While Kelle has worked in various industries, what she enjoys most about maritime is that no week, voyage, or vessel that is like any other and, with that comes continuous lessons, challenges, and rewards.
Kelle spends her free time playing tennis, hiking, camping with her family and volunteering with charitable organizations in her community.
Julie Khan
CONTROLLER, PRINCIPAL
Julie joined Pacific Rim on a part-time basis in 1986 while working for a related steamship agency. She transferred to a full-time position as Controller and Post-Fixture Manager in 1992. She now spends the majority of her time as Controller while continuing to assist with Contracting, Post-Fixture, and Operations. A particular highlight was becoming part owner in 2016 and certifying Pacific Rim as a women-owned small business – not a common occurrence in the maritime industry. Having fantastic co-workers and ‘wearing many hats’ through her years with Pacific Rim has kept every day interesting and challenging.
Outside the office Julie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and keeping active along the biking and hiking trails around the beautiful state of Washington.
Unesa Aure
Post Fixture Manager
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce in Business Management from St. Scholastica’s College in Manila, Philippines, Unesa relocated the to the U.S. She has called California home since 1987, where she and her husband have raised two children.
Shortly after arriving, Unesa began her career in maritime working in post fixture for Marine Chartering. In 2000, she transitioned to Sea Chartering as post fixture and office manager where she has excelled for the last 22 years.
Pacific Rim Shipbrokers is fortunate to have her join our team in May 2022, as post fixture manager.
Unesa spends her free time with her husband and two adult children who now reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She enjoys walking her dog, hiking, reading, family vacations, and serving in the Children’s ministry at her local church.
